H-licence (H-Kennzeichen)
H-licence appraisal — reduced tax for genuine classics.
Cars 30 years and older that are largely original and in good condition can get an H-licence under § 23 StVZO. Vehicle tax drops to a flat €191/year, plus access to classic insurance tariffs.

Eligibility
- Age: first registration ≥ 30 years ago.
- Originality: period-correct paint, interior, drivetrain. Period-typical accessories and modifications usually OK.
- Condition: roughly Note 2–3 — well-preserved or properly restored. Rust-eaten or non-running cars don't qualify.
- Roadworthy: current TÜV/HU is required.
Process
- 1. We inspect the vehicle and document originality, condition and any modifications.
- 2. We issue the appraisal under § 23 StVZO — accepted by every Hamburg-area registration office (Zulassungsstelle).
- 3. You take it to TÜV/Dekra for the H-Abnahme, then to the Zulassungsstelle for the H-plate.
